Review of The Beast of Yucca Flats (1961) by Michael B — 07 Dec 2006
My god! what cinematic grace! this movie is a blast. one of the funniest movies ever, starring tor johnson that played the fat detective zombie in Plan 9 from outer space. this movie is very similar to plan 9, what with the music, storyline, and the stupid narrator. did I tell you about the narrator? see, this movie doesnt have any talking, i'm guessing some idiot lost the soundtrack, because everytime someone talks, we see a shot of the one who is listening, and when the listener is about to talk, we see a shot of the other one. a genuine masterpiece!
Anyway, the narrator says stupid stuff that doesnt make sense such as:
"Boys from the city, not yet caught in the whirlwind of progress, feed soda pop to the thirsty pigs.".
"Nothing bothers some people, not even flying saucers.".
"Jim Archer, Joe's partner, another man caught in the frantic race for the betterment of mankind. Progress.".
"Touch a button, things happen. A scientist becomes a beast.".
Did I mention that he uses the word "progress" alot in this movie?
This is a great movie, and some last words:
Stock footage is a life saver!
