Review of The Beach (2000) by Moni K — 10 Feb 2011
A very underrated film by Danny Boyle bringing heavy themes like isolation, apathy, trust and psychedelia into a basic adventure/romance premise. The Danny signature is right there on the forehead of the film with the vibrant visual style, the proactive music and the humour intact.
Beautiful cinematography, which could partly be attributed to the locations and a captivating performance by Leo are the toppings to this already sizzling cocktail.
