Review of The Bang Bang Gang (1970) by Wes M — 27 Jul 2011
SO COOL!
Ok, I went into it knowing nothing but the actors, a basic premise, and cuz my friend recommended it cuz it's Shane Black. I said "who?"...Dammit, I suck. So now I'm finally educated and know that Black is awesome haha (also the writer of Lethal Weapon, and soon to be the director of Iron Man 3!) This movie is basically a satire on neo-noir films, and satire on films in general. It just so happens that right now, neo-noir is my favorite genre. Gee, you wonder if I enjoyed this. I'll still need to see it again...and again, and possibly once more, just to make sure I get all the details, cuz this is an extremely fast-paced mystery, plus there's more laughs than you can keep up with. Also, RDJ and Val Kilmer play off each other with such ease and expertise, you'd think they've played opposite each other for 10 films by now haha. So yea, see it. Chances are, you'll love it too.
