Review of The Bang Bang Gang (1970) by Baurushan J — 07 Apr 2012
The story is about Harry played by Robert Downey Jr. who is a thief. He spills out the truth on the set of an hardboiled movie and the producers impressed send him to Hollywood for a screen test audition thinking he's a method actor off to Perry played by Val Kilmer who is a private investigator.
At a Hollywood party, Harry meets Harmony who he has known since childhood. Harry later stumbles upon a conspiracy of circumstantial kidnapping and murder where the evidence could incriminate Perry in the murder and frame Harry for the crime.
Harmony believes that Harry that Harry is a detective and tells him to find her sister's killer but Perry insist's it was suicide. As the murder mystery begins to increase, Harry, Perry and Harmony team up.
The movie is sort of done to reference every classic buddy-pairing action movies and I didn't notice that before I was going to watch the film. I had very low expectations when I was watching it and what I got was wow and finally Robert Downey Jr.
and Val Kilmer both rule this film. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang gets a decent 8/10.
