The story is about Richie played by Justin TImberlake who pays for his school with online gambling so he travels to Costa Rica to confront the online mastermind Ivan played by Ben Affleck. Ivan sees the kindred spirit in Richie and and and brings the younger man into his operation.
When the stakes get incredibly high and dangerous, and Richie comes to fully understand the deviousness of his new boss, he tries to turn the tables on him. Ok I'm just going to spoil the ending right here: Richie steals a plane and flies off and Ivan gets arrested; Do you see how thinly written this movie is? I'm sorry but I like Justin Timberlake, I like Ben Affleck and I even like Gemma Arterton only when she picks the right script.
This movie was just just plain boring and shallow on its own. Runner Runner gets a 2/10 and that's it.
