Review of The Back-Up Plan (2010) by Raindawn D — 20 Sep 2010
Very predictable. Another one of those films that if you saw the trailer, that's all there is to see.
One of my big problems with this movie was it's negative depiction of pregnant women, mothers (especially single mothers) and women in general. Once Zoe tells Stan she is pregnant and they go through the struggles of pregnancy Stan's view of Zoe completely changes for the worse. He at times seems even disgusted by her. The "single mother's" group Zoe goes to is filled with kooky new age or lesbian women who are anti men. Her best friend who has 4 children at one point says that her children ruined her life and she hates them and even Stan's friend tells him how horrible parenting is. It was very insulting to say the least and completely turned me off from the film.
