Review of The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer (1947) by Mike S — 29 Mar 2010
A film that shows it's age, and has some rather lame jokes. But Cary Grant and Myrna Loy together is always worth watching (however I prefer Myrna with William Powell).
Shirley Temple, who was nearly 20 in this film, brings the film down a bit with a rather week performance.
A bit surprising that the screenplay won an Oscar, but even Sydney Sheldon said that he felt he got the Oscar based on Grant's performance rather the quality of his script.
