Not since Silence of the Lambs has a film creeped me out and put me on edge like The Babadook. An Australian film that has a Scandanavian feel to it and a little art housey, it's a tense, claustrophobic, unnerving movie about a woman who's still grieving years after the death of her husband on the way to the hospital to give birth.

Grief and isolation are very powerful feelings and this film deals with them in a way I have never seen before.....plus the actress and the little boy who plays her son are incredible actors, particularly the child.

I have now spent two nights fearing the Babadook is in the house and hope for a better nights sleep tonight!

The Babadook has generally received very positive reviews.
