From all the rave reviews you might think this is some sort of smart thriller where a child's fantasy collides with his mother's schizophrenia aggravated by the loss of her husband... But it is not. It is just a mediocre low-budget horror flick.
There are literally hundreds of horror movies that are leaps and bounds better.
