Review of The Babadook (2014) by Boubadiop — 19 Feb 2015
This film gets really quite scary the whole book monster coming to life and the fact the monster looks like a load of jackets hung up sort of makes it quite hard to sleep at night because the film makes it feel so real and gets into your head.
But after a while the film just goes west and loses it a bit, all of sudden the fear sort of goes and you just sat there utterly confused by what's going on and the ending isn't really what I wanted to happen.
Some people say that the child in the film is really annoying and a reason to not like the film but he's obviously meant to be annoying and weird, he's annoying everyone around him so the director wants the audience to get wound up also by the kid.
Well worth a watch for the first 3/4 of the film even if the ending does lose its way a bit.
