Review of The Babadook (2014) by Ozymandias79 — 28 Nov 2014
An interesting horror movie. Much more psychological than anticipated but a little disappointing they didn't go down that path more. It's a horror movie for the ladies, written and directed by a woman, it explores a mother hurting and losing her child.
The kid is brilliant, annoying as hell, but that's the character. On the negative side, the public domain sound effects are cheap and all the adults are caked in makeup. It will probably get a Hollywood remake which aren't always bad.
Altogether, certainly worth watching, especially for an Australian horror movie.
