Review of The Assassination of Richard Nixon (2004) by Louis F — 17 Feb 2009
This is a film I've been looking forward to seeing for a while. Since I've been kinda on a Nixon kick, with 'Frost/Nixon' and then 'Nixon' I thought it might be interesting to watching something not as political.
I think that Sean Penn was excellent in this film, but that was about all. The story wasn't too exciting and engaging up until the end when he went wacko. Besides Penn's character everyone else was very one-demential.
I did like the end and thought that his plan was very un-thought out, but I guess that's the history behind it. All in all this is an interesting flick, not one that I think is all too important to cinema but one that might be somewhat enjoyable.
