Review of The Apple (1998) by Mike C — 02 Mar 2008
While it would be unfair to categorize it as anything other than fiction, reality is so closely woven into it, one wonders if a documentary could have more accurately captured the essence of the events.
In any event, the characters are so honestly portrayed I couldn't even find it in myself to hold any animosity towards the father. And everyone should be fortunate enough to see the scenes where the girls are sent out and get to play.
It's all so sensitively handled. Would it be sexist to say it most certainly benefited from the craftsmanship of a woman?
