This movie's premise of a low-level employee renting out his apartment to his bosses for their extra-marital affairs so he could advance in his career could have made for a repulsive film. But with Billy Wilder's writing and directing, likable leads in Jack Lemon and Shirley MacLaine, and Fred MacMurray playing against type as a father who doesn't know best, this movie is a minor classic.
