Review of The Apartment (1960) by Michael H — 09 Apr 2015
The Apartment has aged well with its philandering plot given an exceedingly dark tone under Wilder's usual witty, sprightly dialogue. Lemmon is excellent with a kind of on-edge neurosis that forces you to instantly connect with him.
As romantic films go, this isn't what you'd expect, and it's all the better for it.
