Review of The Angry Birds Movie (2016) by Jimmy C — 10 Jun 2016
This film is not too enjoyable. The animation is great but that alone can not carry this film, for example; Zootropolis, another animation that is superior to this, contains humour, a meaningful and enlightening story for adults and children alongside beautiful animation, this film's attempts at a joke often failed and were sometimes inappropriate for children, who may have enjoyed this film for its action but even the action was not sufficient, at least for the adult section of the audience. This is kids film though, does it do well in that perspective? No, it has borderline inappropriate jokes that any parent would prevent exposing their young child too, a cleaner version would be better for the film and small children, even though there is only a few jokes like this, the rest don't work at all or just amuse a a segment of the audience.
I won't argue the film's necessity, a good film always deserves to exist but this film, although not an abomination, is far too casual and is not worth a cinema viewing, I recommend you watch it on TV or some other, cheaper medium such as Netflix. Take just your kids to see this in urgencies , otherwise don't go, put your money to better use.
