Okay it was officially a book first but this film has a simple yet effective storyline. A space probe designed to collect samples has landed in a small town and wiped out it's population, their entire blood supply turned to dust.
A team of skilled scientists must solve the riddle of the strange alien form before they themselves become prey to it.
