Review of The Agony and the Ecstasy (1965) by Jessi O — 01 Feb 2010
This is an interesting story. The DVD begins with a short documentary of Michelangelo's sculptures - totally amazing work! The movie is a sad story of a man who doesn't want to paint, but is forced to by a very un-Christian pope.
My favorite scene is Michelangelo arguing with the cardinals about painting naked people on the ceiling of a church. Very funny, good points made by the artist. :) For such an amazing piece of art, the story behind it is horrible.
