Restrained passion in the face of social obligation. One of the most beautifully made films I have ever seen, with one of the most heartbreakingly powerful endings. Acted with such subtlty, and grace. It has some of the more passionate moments I've ever seen, and these occur with clothes on.
Martin Scorsese proves he can dirrect anything, and Daniel Day Lewis proves he can act any role with the same power and intensity that he allways does. Trully a fantastick film!
