Review of The Age of Adaline (2015) by Steven B — 28 Apr 2015
Naturally the Old Geezers Who Go To The Matinee Alone showed up in force for this one; it's about immorality and that is a topic they all relate to. However I went because I was smitten with Black Lively ever since I saw her in Ben Affleck's 'The Town' and have felt she should be a big star.
She carries this movie on her slim shoulders very well. I was expecting to see a kind of 'The Lake House' melodrama, but the film makers go right to the edge of maudlin and then pull it back. Harrison Ford is wonderful here as is the marvelous Ellen Burstyn.
This is a great 'date' movie, not my usual kind (i.e. no decapitations or bare breasts) but I enjoyed it as a soft SciFi movie. Highly recommended.
