The plot was done poorly, with terrible explanations for Adaline's condition. Even in suspension of disbelief in most movies like this, this was hard to swallow and incredibly laughable. (I'm not joking. I totally bursted into laughter when the narrator tried to explain the "science" behind Adaline's condition.).

Not only that but the chemistry between Adaline and Ellis is nonexistent. He was an ass who used "charm" to cover up his creepy, stalker-y tendencies. Learn how to take no for an answer! Adaline made a better couple with William Jones, both young and old. Blake Lively had so much more spark with Anthony Ingruber and Harrison Ford than she did Michiel Huisman. When Adaline said that if she were to tell anyone her true story, it'd be Ellis, I laughed out loud in disbelief. I saw nothing in this movie that would indicate why Ellis would be The One. Adaline also has no personality to speak of, and throughout this entire movie, we get no depth into her character...or most of the other ones, to be honest.

This movie's only redeeming qualities are the visual aspects, Harrison Ford, and Ellen Burstyn. Blake Lively did what she could with Adaline, and for that, I commend her. These were the only reasons I gave it two stars instead of one.
