Review of The African Queen (1952) by Aaron M — 14 Apr 2009
An excellent film, and one of my personal favorites. The performances by all of the actors, especially of Humphrey Bogart, are stunningly believable (though some moments in the plot are absurd), and I would honestly say the Bogart's job here surpasses his role in Casablanca.
It's a film of adventure, peril, and romance, and all at a more-than-comfortable length. One of the few films that truly sticks out in my mind as a classic.
