THE AFRICAN QUEEN (1951).

Co-written & Directed by John Huston.

A sheer masterpiece.

I simply never grow tired of seeing it.

It's not an easy task to capture an audience's attention & imagination for almost 2hours when the entire film centres almost exclusively on the eccentric, quirky, amusing, poignant & ultimately moving developing relationship between its 2 mismatched protagonists.

Thanks to a rich, sparkling, intelligent & sensitive screenplay (co-written by director, John Huston) & supernova performances from Katherine Hepburn & Humphrey Bogart (who won the Oscar), it works & remains to this day timeless.
