Review of The African Queen (1952) by Bob W — 18 May 2010
Acting legends Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn star in this entertaining yet outdated classic about two people braving the African wild. Bogart is fun as a rugged ship captain who takes a woman missionary down the African river.
Hepburn stars as the missionary and honestly comes off as a giant pain in the ass leading us to wonder why the romance (which is a giant bulk of the story) even sprouted between them in the first place.
Luckily there's enough adventure to keep us interested.
