Review of The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988) by Clif C — 04 Nov 2009
A movie that changed my perception on film making. Knowing the story very well from my youth I watched thinking it would follow suit. The surprise story line worked far better than the orginal tales and flowed perfectly as Gilliam waves his magical camera to not only tie in the next fantastic character, but to transform them into mortals with endless problems.
Reminding us that even Clark Kent had to pay rent. This film also posts the greatest dissolve in cinematic history when it melts a calm clear starry night into rippling waves that turn into dry sands.
I shaked the first time I saw and quickly rewound to watch it over and over again. Absolutly my favorite movie of all time and a must for any fan of film.
