Review of The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother (1975) by Heather H — 25 Sep 2009

The humorous and high-action climax is the best part of this film, which could have been generally hilarious if only the rest of it had moved a bit faster. The plot is present but not particularly strong; really, the characters and spontaneous musical numbers are the best parts.

Marty Feldman's investigator "with a photographic sense of hearing" was my favorite, and most of the songs from the film cycled in my head for many days afterward. The DVD commentary by Gene Wilder is also worth listening to.
