Review of The Adjustment Bureau (2011) by Appu B — 31 Aug 2012
Have you ever wondered has your future already been decided? The path you walk already laid out before you? Why is it little things like spilling coffee on your shirt or having to tie your shoelace or maybe having to turn back because you've forgotten something decide how our day goes? All these things we take for granted but are all part of a grander scheme of things & nudge us back on our destined path. This is where the Adjustment Bureau come in, to make sure we follow The Plan. But sometimes just sometimes chance throws a spanner in the works & maybe just maybe that was the plan after all! It's a thoroughly enjoyable film with a feel good factor & deep philosophical undertones. It may have a hint of The Matrix about it but it has original value, something which Hollywood severely lacks lately!
Matt Damon plays a promising US Politician & "accidentally" meets Emily Blunt, the girl of his dreams. Sadly Fate has other ideas for the both of them and The Adjustment Bureau are called in. Matt Damon has other ideas and refuses to take this "Plan" lying down & risks everything to be with the girl of his dreams.
