Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Steven K — 30 May 2013
The Act of Killing is a documentary that explores many things, among them the grey area that lies between the reality and the fiction, and how one would cope with taking another human being's life.
Its undiluted, blunt portrayal of Anwar Congo is profound, disturbing, and thought provoking. At the end of the movie, it is impossible to not feel pity towards these individuals, whose eyes serve as a mirror to the horror they feel themselves at what they've done.
