Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Frank Qifeng X — 20 Jul 2013
Honestly, this 3-hour long documentary film wasn't comfortable to watch and really leave me endless thinking without any conclusion. How can I image a old man who's so happy to call himself "a gangster" and so proud of his killing of about a thousand people? What a combo I gave myself to watch "The Act of Killing" straight after "Hannah Arendt"! When you think of how terrible the Communist did in Russia and China, please don't forget what the paramilitary did in Indonesia to the "Communists" and Chineses.
The ideology is not evil, human is, so deeply.
