Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Simon T — 17 Sep 2015
This is no Shoah. A group of unrepentant Indonesian psychopaths are somehow persuaded to re-enact the barbaric murders they committed in the mid-sixties against anyone claiming to be a Communist. These men are now in their seventies and eighties, but have no guilt or regret.
They smoke, they fish, they smile. No epiphany, no moral conscience. It diminishes the film and elevates these appalling people to pond life.
