Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Freddie T — 26 Feb 2014
A surreal, and unforgiving insight into the death squads that committed genocide in Indonesia in 1965. The film takes you on journey with mass murderers and who's guilt slowly begins to emerge, as Joshua Oppenheimer subtly breaks down their defence mechanisms by recreating the killings in vivid scenes.
A terrifying yet artistic masterpiece.
