Review of The Act of Killing (2012) by Ian G — 16 Mar 2014
A powerful documentary with fictional renactments of the Indonesian death squads involvement in the cleansing of the Communist citizens backs in the mid 60's and as well as numerous Chinese as well.
The blending of the studio work and using the original figures as themselves. along with present day visitations to the sites of the atrocities make for a real vivid and disheartening viewing, and makes you wonder how instances like this event escaped justice.
Watching Anwar Congo's evolution over the course of the documentary is riveting as the weight of his past comes down to bear on him, Must watch.
