Review of The Abyss (1989) by Andy G — 04 Feb 2012
So I wasn't allowed to watch this as a kid so I developed the idea that this was because it's a scary, terrifying movie. It is not. It's a great story about aliens living in a deep trench and I quite enjoyed it.
The many years between then and now can forgive its somewhat preachy nature about humanity's reckless treatment of the planet, especially as the message doesn't come across too condescending. Some really good scenes and decent alien effects.
