Review of The Abyss (1989) by Rosemarie S — 26 Jul 2009
Although I would consider this film to be one of the most boring James Cameron films (I've fell asleep every single time this was on TV or while watching it on DVD!) it is one of the most intriguing.
It's about 20 minutes too long, has Ed Harris as a good guy and Michael Biehn as a bad guy (shocker!) and has a whole crew of friendly aliens. Personally I prefer the man-eating aliens that bleed concentrated acid.
The film itself is "alright". It has some incrediblly filmed underwater sequences, and a pretty decent love story. Otherwise though, it's fairly mediocre and feels like a big budget movie with very little punch.
