Aptly named - this is an abysmal film. I only watched it because it was on a "top 100 sci fi films" list to which it does not deserve the credit.
There is what seems like 3 hours of yelling, burst water pipes, fires and conflict between crew members before the grand deus ex machina in which a city stands before a giant fake blue screen portraying a fuck off tidal wave caused... then withdrawn... by aliens because they were touched by ed harris's sentimental text message to his wife, probably caused by a loss of oxygen to the brain.
