Review of The Abandoned (2006) by Louisa V — 03 Nov 2007
This starts off promising, with some genuinely creepy vibes and a unique setting. Once the plot gets rolling (after the 1 hour mark) you really could give a shit about what's going on because by that point you've been bored to tears with nonsensical situations, trite dialogue and some horrendous acting.
The cinematography works wonders to convey mood, but when there's no story (or one that makes sense anyway) it's all wasted effort. The finale was kinda cool in a shitty way if that makes any sense.
.. but it certainly makes more sense than this flick. A waste.
