The book wasn't anything special, but it was still an interesting read. The movie, although following the same beats, seems to lose some of the heart that made the book so popular. The acting is fine, but the few changes are generally for the worse.
Based on the critical reception and poor box office receipts, it seems unlikely that we will see a follow-up.
