Just a crappy YA version of Red Dawn, except with an alien invasion as opposed to a Soviet one. Mix in a bit of Twilight, Hunger Games and Ender's Game(dumb as rock characters, lame romantic subplot, horrible story) and you got all the makings of a cinematic turd.
