Review of The 5th Wave (2016) by Nels D — 17 Aug 2016
I feel like The 5th Wave did have more potential than past pre-teen book adaptations, with a fairly promising and exciting invading sequence and an overall good performance from Chloe Grace-Moretz. But what unfortunately holds this film back and puts it into the typical pre-teen adaptation category is endless cliches after the pretty decent opening involving love triangles, forgettable dystopian settings that we've seen many times before, and somewhat sub par special effects throughout.
The 5th Wave is overall extremely boring and forgettable and has some wasted potential. Probably best to skip this one.
