Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Ryan Gibbons — 11 Sep 2010
One of the most brilliantly structured films ever made. This is one of Hitchcock's many masterpieces, but I would rank this one in his top five, and not a lot of people know about it, which is a crime.
The film is soooo well made. The acting is flawless, Robert Donat gives the best performance of the 1930's, his performance his a very complex one and he carries on the mystery fantastically. I'll admit that I have not seen a lot of Hitchcock movies, but I think that this one is one of his best.
