Review of The 39 Steps (1935) by Kate H — 05 Feb 2013
Classic thriller from the Master of Suspense himself. Hitchcock has a thing for men who are wrongly pursued thanks to getting involved in international intrigue. I suspect it may have something to do with hi father arranging to have him locked up in a jail cell for an hour or so to make sure he never misbehaved.
Anyway, side issue that. If you don't have the patience for older films don't waste your time but if this sort of thing is right up your alley give it a try. YOu also can very nicely see signs of things to come (i.
E. North by Northwest) in this one.
