Before anyone dined in Hell, these 300 Spartans were defending there country. An excellently violent movie for it's time. Some of the acting leaves something to be desired, but the foremost leads of Leonidas and the old Spartan senator did a good job.
For example, when the senator shared his dream of a united Greece with Leonidas was a great moment.
