Review of Terror Train (1980) by Luke A — 25 Dec 2009
Clever, but not inventive. Halloween on a train, quite literally. The actual story is more like a crime mystery than a horror. "Who is the murderer?" Teenagers hiring a Private Train? Yeah, right. Captain: Okay there's a murderer on the train and he is going to keep on butchering people so... FULL STEAM AHEAD!
However, I see how the movie was trying to be creative. I never guessed who the murderer was, and Jamie Lee Curtis does act pretty well in this one.
This is basically just Halloween on a train. The bits when Jamie Lee was trying to get away from the murderer when he was shoving the pole through the gaps in the fence was surprisingly good. You can see the kind of situation, but it also makes me wonder "How big is this train!?" I mean, some of the carriages were barely big enough to squeeze through, and yet some were big enough to have a whole party in.
I wouldn't reccommend this horror movie alot, but if you're in to all the cheesy 80s slasher movie, sit back, it's a fun ride.
