Review of Terror Train (1980) by Brian S — 03 Nov 2014
Three years after a college prank gone awry, a sorority & fraternity celebrate New Year's Eve on a train. Scream Queen Jamie Lee Curtis and friends just want to get stoned and disco, but a masked killer with a thirst for vengeance has other plans.
After the epic horror thriller Halloween in 1978, Jamie Lee did 4 horror movies in a rowHalloween II, Prom Night, The Fog & Terror Train. This is the least terrible of those 4. It features a bunch of costumed Greeks on a train, and the train's conductor with dreams of being a Winnebago salesman. So it's somewhat original, but as with every horror movie the true underlying fable is that sexual humiliation leads to sociopathic behavior.
The biggest offense is the era itself. The movie features Disco dancing and a live magic show performed by THE David Copperfield....so that happens. Corny & dated, but not terrible as it all sounds. Ending is amusing with a decent twist.
