Review of Terms of Endearment (1983) by Brandon S — 02 Jun 2015
Why should I be happy to be a grandmother?
Aurora is a very headstrong woman that is demanding and borderline confrontational all of the time. Her daughter can't stand it, marries, and moves away. Aurora begins a relationship with an astronaut neighbor. The daughter and mother struggle through challenging relationships and may need each other more than ever.
"Would you like to come in?".
"I'd rather stick needles in my eyes.".
James L. Brooks, director of Broadcast News, I'll Do Anything, As Good As It Gets, Spanglish, and How Do You Know, delivers Terms of Endearment. The storyline for this picture is very well written and contains wonderfully developed and delivered characters. The acting is excellent and the cast includes Jack Nicholson, Shirley MacLaine, Debra Winger, John Lithgow, Jeff Daniels, and Danny DeVito.
"I was just inches from a clean getaway.".
I came across this film while reviewing Jack Nicholson pictures on Netflix and had to add it to my queue. I am so glad I watched this. This movie is very well done and I loved every character and performance. This film comes together very well and is a must see.
"Impatient boys sometimes miss desert.".
