Shirley maclaine and debra winger deliver a near perfect depiction of how zaney a mother daughter relationship truly can be. this could have gone wildly wrong in the hands of other actresses, but there is so much smothering and codependency between the two, it exudes love.
jack nicholson is plain ol' fun.
