Review of Terminator Salvation (2009) by Jeffrey G — 13 Aug 2012
Absolutely abominable. Idiot fanboi's and teenagers who never see other movies will probably find it "AWESOME!"--but then again, these people thought the same thing about "Wolverine: Origins"...
The sole star reflects the prettiness of a great deal of the digital effects--barring a current governor's "cameo" (looks about as good as Mr. Stewart's last "cameo" in another brain-dead summer actioner).
The film relentlessly insults your intelligence while BLATANTLY--as in almost shot-for-shot-- stealing visuals and style from a slew of better films, most notably Terminator 1 & 2, Saving Private Ryan, Aliens and even The Great Escape (!).
I'd say it makes a nice attempt to "reference" the other Terminator films--but given the fact that it steals visuals outright from the first two films, the :"references" become thefts.
Most egregious of all--the damn thing isn't even entertaining.
Don't even bother renting it.
