Review of Terminator Salvation (2009) by Chris W — 27 Oct 2018
This movie was awful. Terminator: Salvation is a snooze-fest! I've watched this movie like three times on television and I've fallen asleep those three times when watching the film because it was so damn boring. Christian Bale was miscast as John Connor. He overacted in some of the scenes. Whenever Christian Bale yelled in this movie, he sounded like his throat cancer voiced Batman. Sam Worthington should not have been in this film. He is boring and has no charisma at all. He has the charisma and acting range of a dry banana peel. Bryce Dallas Howard was miscast as John's wife Katherine Connor. Claire Danes should have reprised that role instead of being recast. Kate was barely even in this film and didn't really do much or anything. There was a no-name black child actress in this movie that literally had zero lines in the movie and absolutely served no purpose in the story. The cast sucks. This movie is extremely forgettable and so incredibly boring, and it's horribly paced. Salvation is even worse than Rise of the Machines. A lot of the characters are extremely boring and forgettable. They're cardboard characters. John Connor lacked character development and was sidelined through most of the film. There's even some continuity errors in the film. John listened to his mom's audio diary from the first Terminator film, and some of the dialogue in that audio diary was different and inaccurate to the one from The Terminator. Arnold Schwarzenegger was absent in this film. He did not play a T-101 in this movie. He was replaced by his look-alike understudy, Roland Kickinger. The only great things about this film were a few of the action scenes and the ending. Oh, and Salvation should have been rated R like the previous installments instead of PG-13.
Rating: 3.8/10.
