Review of Terminator Salvation (2009) by Zachariah W — 07 Nov 2015
While this movie could have definitely used major improvements with many of its elements (story, plot, and character development), I thought that this film was at least a decent and entertaining attempt at taking the Terminator saga in a new and different direction.
While I certainly would have preferred the dark and gloomy atmosphere of James Cameron's vision of the future in T1 & T2, I can understand the filmmakers reasons for making a different looking atmosphere for the world of this film (trying to make it look and feel fresh).
The action scenes were decent, the acting was good for the most part (especially Christian Bale's performance as John Conner), and the story and plot elements did have the potential to help make this movie great.
Basically, I have a love/hate relationship with this film due its unbalanced elements, which leave me feeling torn between what it could have been and how it ultimately turned out.
