Review of Terminator Salvation (2009) by Cooroowal S — 03 Dec 2015

When I read the details of Terminator Genisys I was bummed to find out that the Terminator franchise was not going to continue with Christian Bale and the story that they cooked up for Salvation. I see that this movie has a 33% rating as I write this, and I just have to flat out disagree.

After T3, this series was pretty much done and over with. Terminator Salvation I though really gave the entire franchise new life. Not only adding a huge name like Christian Bale, but the actual story was pretty cool as well.

The post apocalyptic setting was really unique looking and the special effects were spot on with great action sequences. Yes, the story gets a little bit confusing with going in the future and then in the past and so on.

But overall I found Terminator Salvation to be a really fun movie to watch, with great action. The opening scene really sets the tone for whats about to come. Pure entertainment. If I had to bet, I am sure that Christian Bale wanted too much money to continue working on Terminator.

Or maybe he though that since he was Bruce Wayne that maybe being John Connor was going to throw him into the abyss of endless action movies. Although the money is great, if you are a serious actor, chances are your going to stay far away from that label.

And from what I can see, he's carved out a pretty nice career for himself. After seeing the new Genysis this summer, it makes me appreciate Salvation even more. They should have continued with this storyline instead of reverting back to the same old stuff.
